In an illustration elective course, we were prompted to choose a magazine and create an original illustration for an article that focuses on a topic related to social justice. I researched various sustainability topics and selected an article about food waste. Inspired by Keith Haring's vibrant pop art, I created an illustration with energy and movement which conveyed this was an active issue in our society. The original piece is a mural painted in the University of the Pacific’s art building, and the final illustration accompanies the article as if it was featured in TIME Magazine.
